- Responsible for the introduction of new automotive projects/programs and work with partners who can deliver high quality products and services within tight timeframes at a cost that represents the best possible value to our customers and shareholders.
- Responsible to get new components successfully launched at the suppliers respecting Cost, Timing Targets, Quality and Capacity.
- Participate in the definition of new products with the Product Engineering Team (PLSE)
- Work with the project team to develop and agree cost targets for new components prior to Customer quote.
- Interface with commodity managers to identify potential suppliers and commence supplier selection process and audits as appropriate.
- Responsible for organizing, and leading drawing early supplier selection, prototype at Mass Production Supplier and Co-Design/ Design to Cost approach. Conduct evaluation of supplier proposals and put forward recommendations that achieve project expectations.
- Take the lead in make or buy studies along with should cost activities.
- Develop prototype strategy to support timely supply of development components.
- Consolidate budget, for all external investments including development/tooling etc. for all new components within the project.
- Coordinate Product Launch, Supplier Quality activity for all new components.
- Conduct tooling capacity analysis on New Product to ensure the supplier’s production proposition can meet demand requirements.
- Track all cost changes and initiate/participate in reduction activities to stay below price target.
- Take leadership for all supply base activities for the project and ensure actions from support functions are completed on time.
- Take the lead in organizing Sourcing Councils.
- Support the development and implementation of all Eaton processes to enhance the overall efficiency of new product introductions.
- Ensuring early production supplier nomination.
- Maintaining performance metrics and tracking, along with reporting for NPI activities, supporting Senior Management in their decision making.
- Bachelor 's degree required
- At least 3-5 years experience as a Buyer from manufacturing, automotive industry
- Working experience with QMS/ISO9001 / IATF16949, SAP, APQP environment and culture
- Good knowledge of engineering, production, and process techniques such as lean and continuous improvement
- Fluent in English
- Good communication and leadership skills in functional environment.
