Financial Controller

We are hiring a Financial Controller for our partner, who operates a 4-star hotel in Budapest downtown. The Financial Controller plays a key role in overseeing the hotel’s full finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong cost control, and full regulatory compliance. Acting as a trusted business partner to senior management and department heads, the role supports profitability, operational excellence, and informed decision‑making in a high‑quality hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all finance and accounting functions, including financial and cost controlling, credit management, income audit, and cash operations.
  • Manage daily accounting activities such as AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and cost control.
  • Provide financial oversight and direction to IT, Purchasing, and Finance teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Prepare timely monthly financial statements and management reports in line with statutory and group standards.
  • Ensure compliance with USALI principles, internal policies, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and deliver insights to improve profitability.
  • Support audits, tax compliance, and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Partner with department leaders to strengthen financial awareness and accountability across the hotel.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead the on‑property finance team while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and financial results.
  • Ensure ethical conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with internal policies and training requirements.

You are the successful candidate, if you have:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a comparable finance or controlling role.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and hospitality-related software solutions.
  • Solid understanding of hotel management accounting principles and hotel operations.
  • Fluent English
