Our Global asset manager partner, who is establishing its new business service center in Budapest is hiring a Data Operations Team Lead. Their purpose is to help clients define and achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investment approaches, and exceptional service.
Your new role
Lead a team of Data Operations analysts responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of all investment data processes across multiple asset classes and products. The team’s remit includes Investment Data Operations, Data Quality, and Issuer/Broker Data. The Team Lead will ensure operational excellence, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data Operations professionals, ensuring effective coverage across all operational areas.
- Oversee the full end-to-end implementation of JHI client and fund activity such as launches/closures/restructures/in-species/change of custody/mergers.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all data operations activities,maintaining high standards of data integrity and operational control.
- Collaborate with Operations Leadership to enhance the operating model, drive process improvements, and support strategic initiatives.
- Liaise with portfolio management, technology, compliance, legal, and risk teams to develop and implement robust procedures and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, representing the Data Operations function in audits and regulatory reviews.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a key point of escalation for operational issues.
- Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Perform root-cause analysis on master data-related system issues and recommend or execute corrective actions.
- Oversee the onboarding and maintenance of security master data. This includes accurate setups, updates, and controls.
- Maintain an understanding of master data tools, downstream systems, and data quality rules.
- Support Broker, Counterparty, and Issuer data onboarding and maintenance.
- Review and monitor data quality exceptions on a daily basis.
- Carry out other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed:
- Extensive experience across the full spectrum of data operations, including investment data management, data quality oversight, and issuer/broker data. Strong background in transition, onboarding, or client service roles.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop teams within financial services or asset management.
- Solid understanding of operational risk, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated capability to identify, design, and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Exceptional relationship‑building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
- Experience with Aladdin Security Master is preferred.
- Proven success in implementing data quality frameworks within large financial organizations, improving data reliability and resolving exceptions.
